Once upon a time, Japan and South Korea had a certain advantage in LCD industry in terms of output and technology. However, with the continuous catch-up and development of China’s LCD industry, China has now occupied more than 50% of the global LCD production capacity, becoming the largest region of LCD comprehensive products. At present, China’s new display industry has initially formed the industrial distribution pattern of Beijing Tianjin Hebei region, Yangtze River Delta region, southeast coastal region and Chengdu Chongqing Hubei region.
Comprehensive output first
As early as 2019, China’s total LCD production capacity reached 1134.81 billion square meters, ranking first in the world. In the past two years, not only the LCD industry still has an advantage, but the production capacity of new display technologies such as OLED panels also accounts for 10%.
Largest single brand
China has accounted for more than 50% of the global LCD production capacity, of which BOE accounts for nearly 30%, becoming the world’s largest LCD manufacturer. As Samsung, LG and other large manufacturers gradually withdraw from the LCD market, BOE is still improving its production capacity, and its market share is expected to be further improved in the future.
